TAP Camp is excited to expand offerings this year to incorporate a Classical Guitar major. When we started TAP Camp in 2003, we offered Musical Theatre, Dance, and Acting majors with visual arts, technical theatre and filmmaking as minors (or secondary areas of study). The filmmaking and Technical Theatre sections were so well received, we added them as majors. We hope to eventually add a visual arts major as well.

Our big long-term dream is to offer a variety of majors incorporating: theatre, music, film and arts. We wish to see the campus of St. Stephen’s completely packed with artists off all kinds learning new things, building friendships with other campers from around the world and growing artistically and personally in ways they never thought they could.

This year, we are thrilled to offer classical guitar as our next step to making our dream a reality. Classical Guitar is the first step in developing a music program as part of Texas Arts Project. We hope to someday add sections of rock band, pit orchestra, chamber music and much more. It will be nice to see the Guitar students find ways to enjoy and grow through their experience with the established majors and vice versa.

This summer will be exciting, full of new adventures as we join with new artists and expand programming.
